The Sketchbook of Loish

The Sketchbook of Loish

There are some books that are capable of transcending their status as mere hardbacks, to the realm of work of art.  The Sketchbook of Loish is one of these books.

I backed the book on Kickstarter last year, familiar with the artist Loish’s work from time spent on Facebook.  There was a long, long wait before the book arrived, and I had almost forgotten about it by the time it was out for delivery.  I was thrilled when it did turn up, as I remembered that the campaign had been so successful that every single stretch goal had been met.  This meant the addition of a bookmark, a deck of cards and a beautiful art print too:

The book itself includes 152 pages of Loish’s art, as well as numerous hints and tips about her design process and techniques.

Here is a sneaky peak at some of the pages:

Loish has outdone herself with this project, with every page oozing quality.  I would expect nothing less from an artist who has worked with Lego and Blizzard, among other big names.  I can’t wait to see what she creates next, and I will display her book and artwork proudly until then.

You can pick up a copy of The Sketchbook of Loish at The Book Depository.
