I can’t believe it is already February when I can remember panic buying Christmas presents as if it were yesterday. I’ve actually had a pretty positive start to the new year, and I’m so excited already for the things I’ve done this year and the plans I have coming up. Anyway, with so much going on, I felt it was important to have a good old sit down and muse over what’s been happening over the last six weeks…
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I have been having a major declutter this month. Having watched a lot of TV shows about hoarders in the last few weeks, and with the knowledge that I’ll be moving out again this year, now more than ever before feels like the right time to just bin all the junk that has been following me around for years. A lot of it has been difficult to say goodbye to, but overall it has been very therapeutic, and I recommend a thorough declutter to anyone who is tired of stuff. Decluttering is addictive, and I’ll admit to having started to use KonMari as a verb…
If we were having coffee… I would say that I spent a day at my friend’s favourite board game cafe early last month to celebrate his birthday. He taught me how to play Dice Forge (which I immediately bought) and also a stunning game called Sagrada, which I actually won too (see the picture above). I’m slowly working my way around all of the board game cafes in Devon!
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I am a number of weeks into my Passion Planner now, and I honestly don’t know why I didn’t make the switch sooner. The ability to download print-outs from the website to enhance pages or to cover up big mistakes/changes to plans has been invaluable (and totally indulging of the perfectionist in me). I can’t wait to continue exploring what more I can do with my new planner, and continue tracking my goals for the year.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I enjoyed watching another Games Done Quick event. Incredibly, the event raised almost $2.5 million, and I did my bit by watching every evening after work, and buying two awesome t-shirts from their store. Over the weekend, a group of us played video games and board games whilst streaming some mind-blowing runs. The Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Mario Odyssey runs were particularly stand-out to me.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that this month I finally finished reading Hunger by Roxane Gay. I was really moved by her honest account of her relationship with food and the reasons why her eating spiralled. It made me readdress some of my own habits.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I have started watching The Umbrella Academy on Netflix, and it is amazing. The series is based on the books by Gerard Way, who I already think is a creative genius for My Chemical Romance and The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys (which I reviewed here a couple of years ago and enjoyed the concepts of).
