A few years ago I decided to sign up to Pottermore.  I did all the tests, and excitedly accepted my fate as my house, wand and patronus were revealed to me.

I was proud of my wand – made of rowan wood and unicorn hair, which apparently are not materials usually associated with dark magic or evil.  I may not become a great witch, but I will be good and pure of heart.

At the time though, it was my house that surprised me most of all.  Gryffindor?  Are you sure?  As my friends around me were sorted into Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, I wondered if there had been some kind of mistake.  But I quickly settled into the idea of Gryffindor, and now I don’t believe that any house could have suited me better.  I certainly feel like I’ve needed some Gryffindor courage over the last few years!

(Though my friends do tell me I have a thing for Hufflepuffs – a spooky coincidence, or something more?)

I was – I won’t lie – a bit underwhelmed by my patronus.  A West Highland Terrier?  I am a dog person, but I don’t really go for little dogs.  I’m more a Border Collie or Labrador kind of girl.  But that aside, dogs are caring and although Terriers are small (and yappy, and occasionally annoying) I really think they are one of the most loving animals.  And I certainly can’t complain about that.

So overall, I feel quite pleased with my Pottermore results.  Now, I’ll just sit back and wait for my Hogwarts acceptance letter… I’m sure it’ll come any day now…

Which house did you get sorted into?  Did you get the Pottermore results you were after?

I got Ravenclaw and I think it fits my personality. But back then everyone wants to be a Slytherin/Gryffindor tho.

I was horrified initially to get Gryffindor as all my friends were Hufflepuffs haha – I felt like an outcast! It is interesting how the different houses suit people’s personalities though 🙂

I was also a surprise Gryffindor! (I saw myself as more of a Ravenclaw but apparently I am ehm.. more brave than smart?) Three cheers for our house! 🙂
