A Week In The Life: Instax Project

Instax Camera

You may recall last summer I did the Disposable Camera Project, in an attempt to move away from the trigger happy snaps taken on my iPhone, to a more nostalgic, more “raw” form of photography.  I enjoyed the project so much that I invested in an Instax camera, and since summer has rolled around again, I’ve decided to incorporate it into my next photography project.

Introducing… A Week In The Life: Instax Edition!

I’m not one to carry a camera with me usually.  Even my mobile phone tends to be frequently low on battery, or have low storage space, so most days I just don’t take photos.  The Instax camera comes out for special occasions.  That’s just the way it is.

However, I’ve decided to change that this summer.  For one week I will carry my Instax camera with me wherever I go – out with friends, to work, into the kitchen for a glass of water.  I’ll be snapping moments here and there and sharing my favourites in a post at the end of the week.

One of my favourite memories of last year’s project was taking a photo of three of my friends on a woodland walk.  As I looked through the tiny viewfinder and waited for everyone to stop giggling and decide on one pose for that one shot, I remember feeling that this was what I wanted all along – special moments that would only happen because I was doing the project. Who knows what will happen this time around!

Happy snapping,

Emma

This is such a cute idea! I love my Instax but I never know if a moment is special enough to bring it with me. This is a great idea, though, to have it as my ONLY camera for a week.

I’m the same – I’ve felt I have been limiting myself by thinking my Instax should just be for “special occasions”. It will be fun to shrug off that thinking for a week and just have fun with the camera instead 🙂 If you try the project yourself then I would love to see the results!
